Bethlehem Baptist Church
At Bethlehem Baptist Church, we believe the most important decision you can make is to trust Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Here's how the Bible outlines the path to salvation:
1. Recognize that you are a sinner. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23 Every one of us has sinned — we've fallen short of God's perfect standard. Sin separates us from a holy God and brings spiritual death.
2. Understand the consequences of sin. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23 Without forgiveness, sin leads to eternal separation from God. But God offers the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
3. Believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son. “But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8 God sent His Son, Jesus, to take our punishment by dying on the cross. He rose from the grave, proving victory over sin and death.
4. Confess and repent of your sins. “Repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out.” – Acts 3:19 Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God. It's a change of heart that leads to a change of life.
5. Receive Jesus Christ by faith. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9 Salvation is a gift; received not by works, but by grace through faith. You must personally receive Christ into your life as Savior and Lord.
6. Begin your new life in Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 Salvation is just the beginning. As a believer, you grow through prayer, reading the Bible, worship, fellowship, Study and publicly professing the faith.
